What about online sessions / online therapy?

Helping you to feel more at ease about accessing online sessions and online therapy at CreaTEAvity Studio.

Have you been wondering if online sessions are for you?

Working with someone new can feel quite scary at the best of times, and working with someone new AND online might feel a step too far.

Online sessions

So here are a few of the things that I, personally, really appreciate about online sessions (and online therapy) - and these may be helpful for you to consider:

- with online sessions (and online therapy) you are able to connect and access support from the comfort of your own home (or a safe, private space)

- online sessions are therefore much more accessible if you travel a lot - or if you live in a rural location and it’s a long or difficult journey to make, plus you get to save on petrol, parking fees and travel expenses, too … and you don’t have to worry about traffic holding you up

- whatever the weather, you can still get to your session (unless your internet connection is proving temperamental)

- if you have difficulty getting about, are troubled by social anxiety or agoraphobia, or if you are housebound (as I currently am), then accessing sessions and playshops in this way can really help to dispel that feeling of isolation, or loneliness

- sessions are completely private - no-one will know we are working together, unless you choose to share that with someone

What you need for online sessions / online therapy

a stable, reliable and strong internet connection (we will be using video, particularly with creative arts and hypnotherapy)

- a really good location in your home (or safe space), that is private for you; it’s important that you know you will be undisturbed, and no-one can overhear you

- preferably a device with a large screen so that you can see me clearly (such as 12" tablet, laptop, or computer)

How to get started with online sessions / online therapy

- if we haven't "met" each other before, then let's have a virtual cuppa together - just 20 minutes. This will help us to check (a) we’re a good fit, and (b) online sessions / online therapy are suitable for your needs. You can book one right now, if you like: Virtual Cuppa with Callie

- if all the boxes are ticked for (a) and (b), we can then get you booked in for your first session.  (If it's hypnotherapy, we will start with an Initial Consultation appointment, which is 90 minutes)

- once you are booked in using CreaTEAvity Studio's online diary, I will send you a client information pack - this will help you get ready for our time together, and some forms to look through before our first session. If you have booked using the online diary, then you will automatically have received an email with the link to connect via Zoom

I make use of a secure video conferencing platform called Zoom which gives us a safe, confidential space - it’s easy to access and use, and free to create an account. So if you haven't got a Zoom account already, please do sign up for one.

What happens during online sessions / online therapy

- our sessions will be very similar to how they’d be in a clinic setting: quite informal, and they will be recorded

I have been working online in a therapeutic setting since 2010 so consider myself a pretty safe pair of hands. Occasionally we may have tech wobbles but that’s OK, it’s part of the fun!

I am always really happy to answer any questions you may have about online sessions, so please do get in touch if I can help put your mind at ease.
