Jumping in with Beth Kempton's Summer Writing Sanctuary this week gave me all the encouragement I needed to get writing on Substack
Hello there! It's lovely to be back here in the CreaTEAvity Studio after 4 months being off signed off work following complications after my breast cancer completion surgery - and a very unexpected second breast cancer diagnosis, oh my.
Officially I am still off work until October ("earliest", I can hear my nurse's voice ringing in my ears!), but I want to start getting back into the groove with creative stuff again.
So Beth Kempton's wonderful fr*e invitation to her Summer Writing Sanctuary was just what I needed to help get my brain cells whirring again, after months of laying on the sofa (in "rest pose") watching the fabulous Psych series on Netflix.
And I know what I am like. I need a hefty dose of accountability to get me to complete things.
Now, I love reading Substack. I love the articles. I love the Notes section. I love the fact it also has podcast functionality. Yet I had been holding off from posting anything on our Substack for months. Waiting for the perfect moment. The perfect inspiration to begin. The perfect writing plan.
Pffffft is what I say to "perfect". Really. There is no such thing. Far better to just get something out there, and "done".
And that's exactly what I did. No fanfare, no drama. I know all 3 of my subscribers personally (thank you!), so no pressure to perform.
If you'd like to take a read of my musings and ramblings, you are most welcome to wander over:
In fact, I love the whole Substack-community so much, I am thinking of eventually moving over our newsletter to there, so do think about subscribing while you're there.
Do you have your own Substack? Please do let me know, I'd love to connect with you there :)
